THE ANOMALY ON MARS

EARLY ACCESS · UPDATED SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

Help train future enemies.

Starting with game version 0.70.3, gameplay sharing is on by default during early access. If you have already turned sharing off, that choice stays off. Older builds do not collect these training samples.

Your choice

Open Settings → Input → Help Train Enemies to turn sharing off. This clears unsent samples and stops future contributions. It does not recall a request already being sent or remove samples already contributed.

What the game sends

Short, bounded examples of movement, aiming, firing and dashing, together with nearby enemy and hostile projectile positions, arena boundaries, and the game version. Collection is limited to five samples per second and 300 samples per run. A run needs at least 60 samples to contribute; the server accepts at most one contribution per player per day.

The existing player profile authenticates the upload. Training records use a purpose-specific player pseudonym, not a pilot name. Samples contain no chat, screenshots, audio, save files or account secrets. This is pseudonymous data, not completely anonymous data.

Where and why

Samples go to this game's website database and selected examples are downloaded to the developer's training PC. We use them to approximate player behavior in offline experiments and test candidate enemy tactics. A successful experiment does not automatically change enemies in your game.

The active sample pool covers the last 90 days; older pool rows are removed when a subsequent contribution arrives. Private training-job snapshots may be kept longer so we can reproduce and compare experiments.

When sharing is disabled

Offline play, Sandbox, automated simulations and agent-controlled sessions do not contribute. Sharing is not a replacement for bug reports or leaderboard submissions; those are separate features.

Future Steam terms

Any future Steam terms will be presented separately. Playing early access is not recorded as acceptance of terms that have not yet been presented.
